Details of Hydraulic Aluminum Billet Casting Cylinder
OrCast hydraulic casting piston has been designed by our Turkish Engineers to perform high quality aluminum billet casting by working at a constant speed with a precise speed control, which does not require maintenance for many years.
Our hydraulic piston is designed to be able to cast 6 and 7 meters of billets.
It is a single-acting piston with a rod shaft bearing from itself without the need for rail and bearing elements in the well.
The Orcast casting piston measures the speed and position information of the piston directly over the rod shaft every 3 mm throughout the casting.
Development Processes
The development processes of OrCast were first started in 2010 in cooperation with TÜBİTAK. Mehmet Engin Oray led the project. It was completed in approximately 5 years. With R&D, the manufacturing process took an extra 1.5 years. The development of our piston has been completed after intensive work both in software and mechanical terms. Our first casting piston was delivered to our customer in 2016 with high performance and without any problems.
Thanks to the OrCast casting piston, which is completely domestic production, a quality casting can be obtained, while the billet casting length and casting speed information can be seen instantly. It is possible to create ready-made records for different diameters with the desired casting parameters, and also by setting up special alarms for the operator, warnings about the approaching end of casting can be received. In this way, regular and standard billet sizes can be obtained easily. Optionally, water line, water flow and temperature information can be added to our casting panel system. By adapting it, casting parameters can be collected on a single control system.
